June 7, 1861. Winston & Ben went huckleberrying.

June 8, 1861.  Toady & Lewis came over just before dinner.  In the afternoon Ben, Toady & Lewis went to cut a bee tree. Ma and the girls went to Tina’s. Had 2 watermelons. Ben's bee tree turned out to be a fine one, the bees drove them away once & they came home and Winston went back with them, they did not return until 9 o'clock & brought lots of honey & fish.
