May 2, 1862. Winston returned a little while before dinner from his search of the Government property had some success. In the afternoon the boys went fishing, Winston & I walked out in the field.

[Rebecca] May 2, 1862.  Quite cool in the morng.  Winston arrives about half an hour before dinner.  He states that the 3d. Reg. Florida Volunteers are ordered to Tennessee - that all males from 18 to 35 years of age are ordered into the service for the war!
