September 10, 1862. Got beef. No rain.

 

[Rebecca] September 10, 1862. Clear morng. – rather warm – Boys go fishing immediately after breakfast and get enough for dinner – Got a whole beef in the afternoon. Tivie & boys very busy with it until 8 o’clk. I read the papers most of the afternoon.
